Leave it to Apple to get things done in style, and they will never disappoint. Well, almost never. (Ref: the Pink MacBook…urgh! What were they thinking?)
Anyway, coming back to what we were saying earlier, Apple has found a unique way to announce the much awaited WWDC 2016 event. It is quietly letting Siri do all the talking!!
That’s right. Pick up your iPhone and ask “Hey Siri. When is WWDC 2016?” and you’ll get this response!
That “I can’t wait!” chirp at the end is so adorable, don’t you think?
For those who may not know (what rock were YOU under all these years?), WWDC is short for World Wide Developers Conference. It’s an annual event where Apple announces new versions of their OSes, especially the iOS and OS X (or soon o be MacOS). In this conference, Apple also gives us a sneak-peek into their plans for the future of the Apple ecosystem as a whole.
This year’s WWDC, as Siri has announced with so much enthusiasm, will be held from June 13 onwards through June 17, in San Francisco.
Apple has also confirmed the date on their website.
“Monday’s kickoff events, including the keynote address, will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The rest of the week’s conference sessions will take place at Moscone West.”
Developers are usually the ones who’re looking forward to the event with great anticipation. This year’s going to be no different. As Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior VP for Marketing said: “WWDC 2016 is going to be a landmark event for developers who are coding in Swift, and building apps and products for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS.”
Let’s wait and watch what new tricks Apple has up its sleeve!
