Android users have enjoyed the ability to share GIFs in WhatsApp for quite some time now. And like so many times before, this feature was denied to iOS users. However, that’s about to change.
WhatsApp gives iOS Users the ability to share GIFs with each other.
The latest version of the popular chatting app — v 2.16.15 — brings this much-needed feature to all iOS users. Here are the highlights:
- The GIFs can be forwarded just like an image while chatting.
- You can choose any of your existing videos to convert them into a GIF. However, you’ll have to trim the video down to 6-7 seconds only.
- People with the latest iPhones have the option of converting Live Photos into GIFs, which can be shared with Android users and those who have older iPhones!
- Finally, you can directly shoot a GIF while you’re chatting. Just record a video in-app, like you normally do right now, except, it shouldn’t be longer than 6 seconds. Once you’re done recording the video, a new window will pop up, asking you choose between sending the video as normal video or GIF. Choose GIF and you’re done!
The last two features are not available on Android. So although we are getting the feature a little late, we’re definitely getting a better package. Booyah!
What are you waiting for, then!? Go and update your WhatsApp and start sending GIFs like crazy!!
