What’s more, it’s affecting even the beta version of WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. That’s why it’s likely that the crash is
WhatsApp Bug Causing Crashes
In a reply to WABetaInfo, the head engineer for WhatsApp said they’re working on a fix and that “putting the app in Airplane Mode does seem to help mitigate” for now.

That was two days ago, and we haven’t heard anything further. Hopefully, they’re looking into the cause and working on a fix for the WhatsApp bug. Meanwhile, people are still experiencing crashes and taking to Twitter to voice their displeasure.

Fixing the WhatsApp Crash Issue
Fortunately, it’s not a widespread bug and is only affecting (or being reported by) a few users.
WABetaInfo also tweeted that the issue has been fixed, but WhatsApp is yet to confirm the fix and users still report that the crashes are happening.
So, sit tight if you are still facing the issue. Hopefully, the folks at WhatsApp will solve it soon. For now, you can try these temporary fixes:
- As mentioned before, switch Airplane Mode on and off.
- If that doesn’t work, try restarting your iPhone.
- If all else fails, reinstall the app.
