How Much Would You Pay For Steve Jobs’ Worn Out Sandals?

Celebrity auctions are always fun to attend. You not only get to peek inside your favorite celebrity’s life, you also get to own a part of it. Of course, when we say “you” we mean those super rich guys from Jupiter who walk on water and have more money than they know what to do with.

Recently, some of Steve Job’s old stuff was auctioned off. Now for Apple fanboys, that’s huge. Just to give you some context, what Amitabh Bachchan is to Bollywood, Sachin Tendulkar is to Cricket, that is what Steve Jobs is to Apple – THE GOD!

It’s no wonder then that people were ready to pay crazy money for the weirdest of things owned by the Lord of the iPhones. And when we say weird, we mean it, because the things that got auctioned off included a pair of his smelly old sandals!

Other items that came under the hammer were a black NeXT turtleneck, a used Seiko wristwatch, a group of four smaller items, including a Steve Jobs NeXT business card, and an Apple pen from the 80s.

All the items were from Steve Job’s years at NeXT. They came from the personal collection of Mark Sheff. Mr. Sheff was the manager of Steve’s Albany estate back in the 80s. That’s how he came in possession of the artifacts.

In an email addressed to Business Insider, Sheff said, “Steve was looking for live-in help. We had organic gardening and natural foods cooking experience.” Apparently he acquired the items by collecting them when Jobs threw them out, which was often, because “he kept very few things.

This was not the first time stuff was auctioned off from Sheff’s private collection. He previously donated three business cards to the Marin School which ultimately sold for $10,500.

It is unclear how much this auction made, or who bought what items. But we are certain about two things a) the auction must have brought in quite a few bucks; and b)  whoever bought those slippers? Yeah, we don’t want to meet them, because that kind of fetish is the stuff nightmares are made up of.

You can find the complete collection of things that form the collection of Sheff on this facebook page, appropriately named “Steveabilia.”
