Apple’s has officially announced the release of Red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models. These (PRODUCT) RED iPhone colours will be available to buy online from April 10th and in stores from April 13th for the same price as existing models. Head over folks!
Apple has long been running the Product Red program where a part of the profits from the sale of these devices will be donated to the Global Fund, a charitable organization that funds programs that fights HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Apple has been raising funds through this initiative for over a decade now. The company has raised over $160 million for the Non-Profit from selling scarlet-coloured covers, cases, Apple Watch bands and rarer, special edition devices like the last year’s iPhone 7 in Red. Unlike last year’s white bezel model, this year’s RED iPhone 8 features a black front panel.
Although the RED iPhone X was nowhere to be seen until now, Apple launched a new claret-colored $99 leather folio case for the flagship if you’re really pining to redden it somehow. So for those who are looking for something bold, it’s a win-win situation. Not only do you get to make your lifeless Space Gray peers go green with envy, but also feel a bit holier-than-thou along with the added benefit of doing some charity.
Now if you’re wondering, why choose the fiery red over the Apple’s ‘classics’, here’s why… I mean yes, silver has an elegance to it, the gold gets attention and space gray, well, it goes with anything, but if you are looking to make a statement, PRODUCT(RED) is the right buy for you. So if you want the literal fire-alarm, all-hearts hotness, and a little ABOVE ALL ELSE, support the charity fighting AIDS, then you better start booking!
