If you are a podcast addict, you’re going to love this new update from the popular podcast app — Overcast. According to AppleInsider —
Popular iOS podcast app Overcast has updated with the ability to sync episodes directly to an Apple Watch, letting runners and others leave home without an iPhone in tow.
This option can be accessed by tapping the Queue menu on the main screen of the app on iPhone. Just press the “Queue” button and you should see an option to add the selected podcast to the Apple Watch that’s linked to your iPhone.
This new feature by Overcast is a god sent to those who hate to carry their iPhones with them when they go exercising/jogging. Now you will be able to leave your iPhone at home and not miss out on the podcast while on the workout!
In a way, this feature is the ideal solution for podcasts rather than songs/music. That’s because podcasts, unlike songs, are not meant to be heard in repetition. You just hear them once and delete them, thus making the Apple Watch’s meagre storage not much of a challenge to deal with!
We must say that Overcast has done a wonderful job with this update. Because Apple’s own podcast app doesn’t support podcast syncing yet. So, like many other third-party apps out there, Overcast is taking one of the core Apple features and delivering it better than Apple itself!
