There’s good news for people who use Microsoft Outlook on their iPhones and iPads. Turns out that you can now open all Office documents (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) directly from Outlook in their respective iOS apps. Microsoft made the announcement of these newly integrated features on August 21.
So if you now want to edit Office documents on either of the two Apple devices, it’s easy and quick. Simply tap on an attachment in Outlook to open the file directly in PowerPoint, Excel or Word apps. More so, if you haven’t downloaded the Office apps on your iPhone or iPad, Outlook will load a built-in viewer, providing a link to download them in the App store!
The good news doesn’t end here. Once you make edits in the Office attachment, you can tap the ‘Back’ button to return to Outlook. What’s more, the newly-edited document automatically gets added to the Outlook email as a reply attachment. You don’t have to go through the hassle of saving the edited version and adding it to the reply email separately. And finally, these Microsoft apps also have the option of “Send with Outlook” in the “Share” menu.
Given our dependence on MS Office applications and our love for all things Apple, we’re glad that this latest upgrade has made their working more seamless and intuitive. Life is so much easier for professionals now!
Don’t you think we should all say, “Thank you, Microsoft!”? Yes, we should!
