“We are here to deliver a special message to some old friends.” These words, when spoken by one old rival to another can seem insidious and sarcastic. But Microsoft recently said them to Apple in the spirit of goodwill and cheer, and of healing old wounds.Embracing the spirit of Christmas, Microsoft sent the employees of its Manhattan retail store on a friendly stroll down the block to an Apple Store, where they all stood and sang a Christmas carol!
Sounds like fan-fiction, doesn’t it? Well, it’s true. See for yourself:

Apple and Microsoft have always had a particularly bitter relation, especially when it came to ads. After hours of airtime spent mocking each other, it seems like there might finally be a truce between the two tech giants.
As it can be seen in the video, Apple employees were mildly taken aback, but you could tell they were touched as well. I think it was those adorable kids pouring their heart and soul into the carol. In any case, the hugs exchanged between both parties at the end were definitely genuine.
We cannot say for sure if this means that the iconic Mac vs. PC ads will be forgotten (and forgiven) altogether. Maybe Microsoft is just being polite because it is the holidays season. Whatever the case, at least, it’s one less dispute for the world to worry about.
“Let there be Peace on Earth, and let it begin with Me.” Indeed, Microsoft, indeed!!
