Apple just launched the public version of macOS Sierra 10.12.4. It’s not a monumental change, but still there are enough under-the-hood features to make it worth the upgrade.
The One Big Change
Night Shift comes to Mac
- Night Shift mode, previously available only on iOS, has now been made live on macOS Sierra 10.12.4.
- Night Shift changes the colour of your screen automatically depending on the time of the day. It’s meant to ease the strain on your eyes from staring into the screen for too long.
Night Shift mode is available on the following Macs —
- MacBook Air (Mid 2012 or later)
- MacBook (Early 2015 or later)
- MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 or later)
- Mac mini (Late 2012 or later)
- iMac (Late 2012 or later)
- Mac Pro (Late 2013)
“If you have multiple displays connected to your Mac, the Night Shift setting will be available only on the display that you’ve designated as the primary. To see which display is your primary, click on the Arrangement tab in the Displays system preference. You can change this by clicking and dragging the menu bar to the desired display.” (MacWorld)
