Caution: This news is not for the faint-hearted.
Remember the times when the launch of the 7th iteration of an Apple product meant that you could finally afford the 3rd? Well, not anymore!
Apple just got done unveiling its shiny new toys – the new MacBook Air and Mac Mini. And as we all know, new models usually translate into price cuts for older models, right? Not this time! Apple India has decided to take the opposite route. (A genius move!)
Instead of lowering the rates of older Mac models, Apple has hiked the costs of the entire Mac line-up by up to a whopping Rs. 61,800. While it’s unclear what prompted this massive bump in the price in India, but my guess? You can thank the skyrocketing dollar to rupee cost for the price shoot up. But then again, Apple’s sales in India are already taking a tumble and this move isn’t going to do them any favours.
With the MacBook Air priced at an eye-wateringly high cost of Rs 1,14,900, the new Mac lineup is already very pricey and increasing the price of other models will only lead to tears of disappointment and despair. But if you still got your heart stuck on a Mac, take a look at the revised prices of all the base models! Fair warning – You might wanna sit down before you do!
