iOS has two cool features that we love to use: Night Shift and Low Power Mode. However, for some strange reason, Apple doesn’t allow us to use both of them together. There was one way to do that before iOS 9.3.1, but Apple fixed that with the software update.
However, 9to5Mac has found yet another way to cheat the iOS into enabling both of them at the same time.
Here’s how you do it —
NOTE: The following method is rated M for ‘mildly technical’. (Translation: You don’t have to be a pro to understand and follow the instructions).
- Go to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode. Slide the green button to enable.
- Press and hold the Home button to bring up Siri. Ask her to enable Night Shift.
- Siri will come up with this reply (or a variation of this): In order to turn on Night Shift, I’ll have to turn off Low Power Mode. Shall I continue?
- Say “yes”, but before the confirmation response from Siri, press the sleep button.
- After your screen goes dark, you should hear the confirmation beep from Siri.
- Now unlock your phone. If you’ve done everything correctly (especially timing the screen-lock), you should have both the functions enabled simultaneously.

Update: Apple has released a new beta for iOS 9.3.2. As per a report by AppleInsider, “The first beta of iOS 9.3.2 was supplied to developers two weeks ago. A public release of the beta arrived a day later.”
The update officially permits the simultaneous use of Night Shift and Power Mode.
(So much for the effort we put into writing this article! :-/ :-/ :-/)
Anyway, this is a beta version of the iOS, and the public launch is still some time away. If you’re as impatient as we are and wish to activate both features on your phone RIGHT AWAY, follow the procedure outlined above.
Or, you could just wait for a few weeks and make life easier for yourself!
