Don’t mind me, I’m just here to let you know that there’s a new update for AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max, and the latest firmware version should automatically roll out to your device over the next couple of weeks.
To check if your AirPods are up to the latest firmware version, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings → Bluetooth.
- Tap the (i) next to your AirPods’ name.
- Check if the firmware version is 4E71.
If it does, you’re good to go! If it isn’t, you’ll have to wait a little longer as manual updates for AirPods still aren’t possible 🙁
If you reaaaaally don’t want to wait, you can try to speed it up by leaving your AirPods in their case, putting them close to your iPhone after connecting them, and praying to the skies above that the fickle gods of AirPods updates send some luck your way.
As for what the update brings? Well, Apple hasn’t seen fit to let anyone know, but we’ll be on the lookout. Drop us a line below if you spot something different after the update!
