Hello, iPhone camera enthusiasts! I bring interesting news that might make those of you who are frustrated with the iPhone’s zooming capabilities very happy indeed. What’s that? Well, rumours are that the the 2023 iPhone (yes, iPhone 15, not 14) might feature a periscope lens.
If you’re not entirely sure what that means, we gotchu. To keep it very simple, periscope lenses use a prism or a mirror to send light onto the sensor and magnify the image it makes. Like your favourite DSLR! The iPhone’s camera is great, but I think we can all agree that the magnification can use a helping hand. And if this rumour turns out to be true, that might just be periscope technology!
Unfortunately, rumours (specifically, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo) say that this might just be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. Dang it, Apple! Let us have something, huh?
Well, either way, it bodes well for the iPhone that it might feature better zooming capabilities in the form of a periscope lens in the future. What do you think?
