Here’s a piece of news that will bring joy to all gamers! Sony recently announced that release of iOS version of PlayStation 4 Remote Play app for iPhone and iPad both. That’s a good four years after Android users got their hands on the same. Took them quite some time, but hey, better late than never, right?

Thanks for this app, iOS users can finally sync their consoles with their iOS devices. In other words, you can now game with PS4 Remote Play app.

    How does it work

It’s quite hassle-free. To get gaming, simply update your PS4, download the app on your iPhone or iPad and pair the two. The drawback, however, is that you can’t simultaneously connect your iPhone to a DualShock 4 controller.

Remote App is surely a welcome update but if you see no issues with jailbreaking your iPhone, then you’d probably go for third-party options. That way, you get better controls since on-screen controls are overlaid onto the image and work better with a third-party controller.

Of course, there are certain requirements. Because, when is it ever so easy? If you want to download this app, right off the bat, you need to have iOS 12.1 or the later versions. At the other end, a PlayStation Network account and the latest PS4 software is needed. But here’s one that will leave you going “whut?” The PlayStation 4 Remote Play app will only connect to a home Wi-Fi network. Bummer, right? The reasoning for that is that cellular connections might be slow hindering your gaming experience. After all, would you want your connection to vanish leaving you stuck in the middle of a bloody battle?

Sony, however, very vaguely commented on the fact that the app “may not be compatible with some games.” But we have no answers as to which games, and why not. It seems, in this case, ‘ask and it shall be given to you’ isn’t going to get us any answers.

But with hopeful hearts, we will, like we always do, await this app with much anticipation.
