Are you the proud owner of an older iPhone but are worried if the next-gen iOS 14 will support your device? Well, you can put your worries to rest because rumours say that iOS 14 is likely to support all devices currently running iOS 13!
So, if you’ve been wondering, “Will iOS 14 support iPhone 6s?”, the answer is: yes.
The Verifier recently reported that according to information from an early build of iOS 14 and verified by a “trusted source”, the iOS will run on all devices down to iPhone 6s and the original SE. However, this will reportedly be the last OS update for the two iPhones.
iPhone iOS 14 Supported Devices
Here’s a list of all the devices that will be supported, according to the report:
- iPhone SE (2016 and 2020)
- iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS and XS Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max
Well, I just breathed a sigh of relief! What’s more, the report further says that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will support two more years of iOS updates. Not bad!
Apple’s expected to unveil iOS 14 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, alongside other OSes of the Apple ecosystem (namely: watchOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS). From all the iOS 14 rumours and leaks going around these days, we’re expecting to see new iMessage features, custom Siri voices, a new AR app, and so much more!
I, for one, cannot wait to know all the iOS has to offer. Meanwhile, let’s hope this report turns out to be true and users of older iPhones are let in on the fun as well. Fingers crossed!
