Apple’s iPhone has been named the best-rated smartphone of India, according to a new study from BlueBytes, a market research firm.
“In terms of volume, Apple iPhone had the highest positive media appearances followed by Samsung despite the explosion controversy.” (Source – ET)
Wow! Tim Cook must not have wasted any time sending in congratulations to his iPhone team in India!
The study, conducted in association with TRA Research, monitored the positive mentions each phone got in the media. Based on the final tally, “reputation ranks” were given to each brand. And guess what? Apple was right on top!
Surprisingly, Samsung came in second, despite the Note 7 fiasco. Sure, the exploding phones did cause Samsung to lose points and, as a result, the company scored 67% less than iPhone!
Here’s the complete list:
- Apple
- Samsung
- Micromax
- Xiaomi
- Nokia
- Lenovo
- Huawei
- Motorola
- LG
- Intex Technologies
Speaking on the importance of reputation and positive media coverage in today’s electronics market, Pooja Kaura, Chief Spokesperson for India’s Most Reputed Brands, said —
“Reputation can be seen as a currency that the brand can earn through positive action, communication, or sometimes erode due to lack of the same. Reputation has to be consistently maintained, monitored, and enhanced. In a cluttered space like the mobile phone industry, with diverse brands attempting to capture consumer attention, customers buy and recommend on the basis of reputation, making it the most important influencer of buying decisions.”
We did know that the people favoured Apple products, but now we have empirical proof to back up our assumptions. So all you Apple fan-boys (and fan-girls) out there, take this data, and throw it in the face of anyone who says that the iPhone is not the best smartphone in India.
