In a great third-quarter run for Apple in India, the company has earned a tremendous growth of 150% in iPhone sales on a quarter-to-quarter basis. Apple has much to celebrate as they have successfully shipped over 1.53 million units of the iPhone in the subcontinent. Moreover, the company has also managed to increase their sales of the iPad in India. The tablet market for Apple grew by a staggering 107% in the third quarter of 2021.
What Drives iPhone Sales in India?
Leading the way for Apple in India is the iPhone 12. The 6.1-inch 2020 iPhone 12 has been the most purchased Apple smartphone with a 31% market share. Not far behind is the iPhone 11 that registered a 28% share. The iPhone 12 mini acquired a market share of 18%, and the demand for the iPhone SE 2020 model followed at 14%. The iPhone 12 Pro models are lesser in order, possibly due to the higher price tag.
It makes perfect sense, as the iPhone 12 has all the basic features one requires, including the amazing battery life, good cameras, brilliant displays, and fast processors. Coupled with a lightweight, flatter, and sharper design, Apple has made a cracker of a device. On the other hand, the iPhone 11 still sells in good numbers due to its attractive price and great performance.
The iPhone 12 mini packs all the goodies offered on the larger 6.1-inch device, but the tiny display doesn’t have a mass appeal. However, those who have tried the mini like the small form-factor. As for the iPhone SE, it brings a lot of nostalgic value with awesome performance at a great deal. Thus, the 2020 SE continues to add Apple’s growing market share in India. As per analysts, Apple will continue to grow in the fourth quarter as well due to festive sales and the launch of the iPhone 13.
iPad Continues to Be in Great Demand
Not only Apple’s smartphones but their tablet devices are on the rise as well. The iPad Air 2020 and the Pro 2021 were most in demand. Larger displays, laptop-rivalling performance, and great accessories have added to the mass appeal of iPads. Also, with the new iPad mini and iPad 9, things look brighter for the Cupertino tech giant in the coming months.
With a great sales network and Apple’s online store, it appears that Tim Cook and his company have made the right moves in India. If only we had an Apple-owned retail store in India, it’d be the perfect icing on the cake. Have you recently purchased an iPhone or an iPad? Let us know in the comments below.
