On the same day when Apple will globally launch the iPhone 7S, 7S Plus and iPhone 8, their biggest competitor is also unveiling their much-awaited smartphone in India. Yes, you guessed it right Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would be released on September 12th of 2017 in the country.
Media invites for the launch of Galaxy Note 8 event in New Delhi have already been sent out. And according to all predictions, Samsung will leave no stones unturned and try and hog the headlines in the national media.
Samsung’s new flagship smartphone sports a 6.3 inch Quad HD with Super AMOLED Infinity display that was first featured in Galaxy S8 and S8+. Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by Exynos 8895 SoC processor. The smartphone will also have the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and would have a 6GB RAM. Its internal storage would range from 64GB/128GB/256GB.
The device would have a powerful battery of 3,300 mAh that would come with wireless charging support and Qualcomm 2.0 fast-charging capability. The connectivity options on the device will include hybrid dual SIM connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11, USB Type-C support, Bluetooth 5.0 and much more. Apart from that Galaxy Note 8 will include NFC and MST payments, Fingerprint scanner, Iris scanner and Facial recognition etc.
For the camera, the Galaxy Note 8 will have features that will make it the first smartphone to carry such technology that includes dual camera setup at the back with dual OIS. The camera setup includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with Dual Pixel AF (F1.7) and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with AF (F2.4) and both the options would offer 2X optical zoom that could increase up to 10X zoom.
The Galaxy Note 8 would be available in four colour variants that include: Maple Gold, Midnight Black, Orchid Grey and Deep Sea Blue.
All these are promising features and we are sure the Note 8 will get good reviews. But Samsung’s cheeky move of launching the phone on the same day as Apple’s keynote event comes across as kiddish and too desperate.
So, which launch are you more interested in? If you ask me, it is without a doubt iPhone 8 release event. Afterall the 10th anniversary of iPhone and all predictions say it’s going to be a stunner!
