iPhone 7 is Not Without its Share of Problems

Before its launch, iPhone 7 was subjected to endless speculation and a whole lot of anticipation. And while the fanboys are claiming that the lastest iPhone has lived up to the expectations, critics are complaining that there isn’t ‘enough’ newness in the new model.

As the debate about its saleability continues, some users have started noticing a couple of issues with their iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. These aren’t major problems like BendGate, but worth noticing nonetheless.

    Hissing Sounds

Some users claim that their iPhone 7 Plus makes a “weird hissing noise” when performing processor-intensive tasks. It’s a strange noise and experts are still trying to figure out the origin of the issue. Steve Hackett tweeted a video in which you can hear his iPhone 7 Plus making this unusual sound. Listen for yourself:

Apparently, this issue is now gaining popularity with the term “Hissgate”! Fortunately, it has only affected a minuscule number of iPhones, and seems to be limited to the Plus model.

While the cause of this issue remains unknown and unverified, it is speculated that the problem is occurring because of a slight manufacturing defect, known as a ‘coil whine’.

Apple is yet to acknowledge officially (and respond to) the issue. However, it is offering to replace faulty units. So, if you’ve been unfortunate enough to experience the Hissgate, you are welcome to take your phone to the nearest Apple store and get it replaced.

    Airplane Mode

Some users have complained that after turning off Airplane mode on their device, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus show a loss in cellular service. The complaint has been communicated to Apple and investigations are being carried out in this regard. Meanwhile, Apple has advised the customers to restart their devices in such a situation. If the problem prevails, the customers should switch off their device, remove the sim card, reinsert it and try again. This should (hopefully) get the phone up and going.

Some Apple stores are also replacing the ‘faulty’ iPhone 7 units of affected customers. But whether or not those traded units face the same issue is yet to be found. Most likely it’s a software issue, and we can expect Apple to fix the bug in its next update. Fingers crossed.

    Should You be Worried?

As you must have noticed, these are small and rare problems. The chances of you getting the ‘hissing’ iPhone 7 Plus are very slim, and if you do, Apple will replace it within minutes. And the Airplane Mode problem will most likely be squished in a software patch.

Don’t worry at all. You can happily buy the new iPhone 7. There’s no ‘explosive’ problem in here ????
