Everything We Know About iPhone 7 (So Far)

Hello, you rumour mongers! How have you been? All good?

We know, we know … it’s unbearably hot out there, your job is stifling your creative instinct, and your love life’s going nowhere at all. Well, nothing we can do about any of that. However, we can offer you some relief in the form of much-needed tech gossip! Here are all the rumours we’ve come across about the upcoming iPhone 7!

    All Glass Design

There’s a possibility that Apple might bring back the all-glass design from iPhone 4. So now, if the phone falls from your hand, you can be terrified of breaking not just the screen, but pretty much all of it! Wowzee!

We sincerely hope Apple will use a more durable material this time around. We’re already treating our phones so gently that babies all over the world are alleging discrimination.

    No Headphone Jack

Multiple “leaked” images suggest that the new iPhone will not have a headphone jack. This is a dream nightmare come true for many people.

If you thought that the iPhone had issues connecting with Android devices, well … the gulf has just gotten wider. Now you can’t even borrow headphones from your non-iPhone friends. Don’t we feel extremely elitist privileged now!

    OLED Screen (not really)

We had heard that Apple was going to switch to an OLED display; however, that seems unlikely now. New sources are predicting that OLED displays might not come to the iPhone until the next cycle, i.e., 2017.

OLED screens are not only better than LED displays, they’re also more energy efficient, meaning more battery life for you. We’d say we are missing out on a much-needed feature here.

    Smart Connector

This is one feature we are really hoping will see the light of day. Apple has been selling a lot of accessories for iPad Pro that hook up to the device with smart connectors. We are guessing that those devices, especially the keyboard, will now be able to connect to the iPhone too! All thanks to the smart connector. Yay!

    Dual Lens Camera (?)

The question mark in the title is intentional. There is a lot of confusion that exists around this feature and the grapevine is hopelessly divided on this.

Some are saying we’ll definitely see a dual camera. Others are saying that’s not going to happen. And each camp seems to have its own set of ‘trustworthy sources’ vouching for the story. We’re having a hard time figuring out what falls within the realms of possibility, so we’ll just have to wait this one out.

On a side note, why would Apple even want a dual lens camera? The existing one already shoots in 4k. What do they want now? Shoot in 3D? Is Christopher Nolan planning to make his next IMAX movie on a freaking iPhone?

    Incredibly Thin

The iPhone 6 is 7.1 mm think. The iPhone 7 is going to be even thinner. We cannot be certain about the exact measurements, but it looks to be around 6.1 mm.

Hurrah for phones that look super sexy, but bend when you stuff them into your pocket. We certainly don’t want another Bendte on our hands! Let’s hope Apple builds the next iPhone with some sturdy metal.

    Four Speakers

This one’s again a little iffy. It’s possible that Apple will put two more speakers on the top of the phone to give you a complete surround sound experience. However, it’s also possible that Apple will just improve the quality of the bottom speakers to achieve the same effect.

The reason we think the second is more likely is because Apple has been working to integrate Beats Audio more organically into their product line up. It would make more sense to use their superior audio technology, rather than just amping up the number of speakers on the phone.

    No Camera Bulge

The one problem that has always bugged the more design-crazy fanboys among us is the camera bulge that makes the whole phone wobble.

Apple is looking to resolve the issue by embedding the camera right inside the body of the phone so that it doesn’t protrude. Which, if it happens, is going to be quite a feat considering how incredibly thin the iPhone 7 is going to be!

    Overall Redesign

You can say goodbye to the antenna bands on your iPhone. Finally! Thank you, Apple! Obviously, Apple isn’t going to remove them completely (’cause you need the antenna to make and receive calls, duh!). However, it looks like the antennas are going to be removed from the body and rewound to the top and bottom edges.

Other than that, there aren’t going to be major redesigns. You can still expect the rounded edges and the aluminium body casing similar to the previous generation iPhones.

So, are you guys excited for the iPhone 7!? We know we are and we will be following every little whisper closely right till the launch of the phone. You can always trust us to keep you updated!

Bonus: A video showing an artist’s rendition of what the iPhone 7 might look like. Watch in at least 480p for better impact.

I am confused weather to buy a 6s plus now or hold on and buy 7? But as Apple fan boy pretty much excited.

Sagar if you want then wait till iPhone 7. It might not be a completely new design but there’ll be enough updates to justify the wait.

I’m having 6plus right now and wants to sell it and hold up and purchase 7

      1. Team A-Sutra says:

If you sell your 6 plus now you will get more resale value than selling it when iPhone 7 has launched. But then iPhone 7 is still 5-6 months away. So if you can manage till then it’s a perfect option to sell now and wait for 7.
