iOS 10 is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. It has several new features, but also comes with a fair share of problems. There have been many reports of people experiencing glitches with the software. Here are some of the more common ones.
Diminishing Battery Life
Apple smartphones are not known for their long lasting batteries, but after installing iOS 10, users experienced even faster drain of battery life. I can only imagine how frustrating that would be – having to charge the phone multiple times a day!
This issue can be fixed by using generic tips like dimming the brightness, reducing background app usage, enabling the new battery saver feature, and limiting the number of selfies you take to a few hundred.
Connectivity Issues
Post the latest iOS update, iPhone users have complained about not being able to connect to the Wifi, Bluetooth or even their cellular network.
A quick fix that seems to work well is to try turning the Wifi / Bluetooth / Mobile connection off and on again. If this does not work, try reconfiguring your connectivity settings. You may lose your saved connections, such as your home and friend’s Wifi, but that’s a minor inconvenience if you can get rid of this annoying bug.
Touch ID Issues
One of the more irritating problems experienced is the Touch ID failing to recognise your fingerprint. The only way to unlock the phone is to enter the passcode, which is so old school!
To fix this problem, try toggling the Touch ID on and off. If that doesn’t work, remove all the fingerprints you’ve stored and then save them again. That generally works.
iMessages not working
Messages got a major update with iOS 10, but it received just as many bugs as well. Many people have reported that their messages weren’t being delivered and the newly added animations were not working.
How to fix that? With regards to the animation, make sure Reduce Motion in settings is turned off. And, if your messages aren’t going through, delete the chat and start over.
Every new iOS update is generally accompanied by glitches. Give it some time and subsequent software updates will fix them. In the meanwhile, try and cope as best as you can!
