It’s been over a week since the public release of iOS 11 and many people have been complaining of various issues like battery draining, slow speeds etc. Apple has quickly worked on the fixes and released iOS 11.0.1 with performance improvements. It is a small update, and its sole purpose is to fix the glitches that are present in the predecessor.

The release note that accompanied the iOS 11.0.1 update stated: “includes bug fixes and improvements for your iPhone or iPad.” It isn’t a feature update, and you won’t be seeing anything new after the installation of the update yet it is recommended that users install it for the devices to work as smoothly as possible. It should address most of the performance issues that have been discovered in the iOS 11.

The software has two builds. The current iPhones and iPads are using the 15A402, and the build 15A403 is for the forthcoming iPhone X.

The highlight features of iOS 11 included a new voice for Siri and also AR Kit tools which developers could use to create advanced augmented reality applications. The App Store has also been redesigned and various other features such as Do Not Disturb while driving and refreshed Music App in the new update.

iOS 11 brought about a brand new app dock which can be used for multitasking and app switching in iPads. It can also drag and drop files between applications. The software is compatible with iPhone 5S and newer versions, iPad Air and fresher and iPad 2 and up and all iPad Pros. It is also available with the sixth generation iPod touch.

    Not Seeing iOS 11.01 Update?

    1. Go to Settings > General > Profile
    2. Select iOS 11 beta profile and click delete
    3. Enter Passcode to confirm
    4. Look for update again in Settings > General > Software Update
    5. Just in case you still don’t see the update, restart your iPhone and then check again.
