It seems only yesterday we reported the iPhone price increase in India in the wake of Budget 2020. Now, just two weeks after that, we have news that iPhone prices are rising yet again, this time due to the recent hike in GST on mobile phones from 12% to 18%. And the effect of GST on iPhone in India isn’t limited to just the iPhone 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, and iPhone 8 models.
The iPhone 11, which had miraculously escaped the price hike last time, wasn’t spared this time either. Other victims are the iPhones XR, XS, 7, and 7 Plus. The updated prices are available on Apple’s website, and you can also have a look at the table below.
Of course, we can’t really buy an iPhone at this moment, and neither is India receiving shipments, due to the situation with COVID-19. Still, the iPhone price hike is going to affect Apple’s sales in India even more once the lockdown’s over.
And if you were planning on getting your (sanitized) hands on an iPhone in the near future… well, it’s bad luck all around.
