The wait is finally over for Indian fans. For years, we’ve had to either stick with the default configurations available through authorized resellers in India or get our customized MacBook from places like the U.S. with their own Apple Stores. But not anymore! Ahead of launching its own stores in India, Apple has decided to offer us custom configuration options through the stores of its authorized resellers. Yassss!
Now you can get your own customized MacBook Pro in India, alongside Air, Mini, and other Mac models, without having to inconvenience friends and family staying abroad or paying exorbitant shipping costs to have it delivered here. As first reported by TechCrunch, Apple is slowly starting to offer build-to-order (BTO) or configure-to-order (CTO) Macs in India, with custom specifications such as memory, graphics, or storage. And we couldn’t be more excited!
How can you get an Apple customized MacBook in India?
If you’re in the market to get your own custom Mac, all you need to do is contact your local authorized reseller and discuss the configurations you’d like in your new device. You can view all the configuration options available on the Apple website. The wait might be long (expect to wait at least a month before your order reaches you) and the cost may be high, but we think owning a customized MacBook just might be worth it!
Unfortunately, custom options are not available through online sellers like Amazon and Flipkart, and not all authorized resellers in India have it for now. However, that should change as more and more resellers get on board with the program.
Plus, we have the opening of Apple’s online and its first brick-and-mortar store to look forward to, which will no doubt mean more buying options for build-to-order MacBooks.
