Apple’s has just released the schedule for its annual Word Wide Developer Conference (WWDC). This year, the event will be held from 5th to 9th June at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Developers can submit their ticket applications from 27th March.

WWDC is the most important event of the year for iOS and Mac app developers as they get a sneak peak into the future of Apple’s operating systems, along with priceless training sessions with in-house Apple technicians. Having said that, the showstopper is the keynote on the first day of the conference, where Apple previews the latest operating systems (and sometimes also announces new hardware products).

    Coming for sure …

Unless Tim Cook has a big surprise up his sleeve, we will certainly see the following updates to Apple’s operating systems:

    iOS 11

    MacOS 10.13

    watchOS 4

    tvOS 11

I know that you were hoping to get a list of expected features for these OS updates. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any leaks yet. In fact, when it comes to operating systems, we hardly get to know anything in advance as there are no third party vendors, and hence, no ‘leaks’ in the supply chain.

    Maybe …. Maybe not …

While the OS updates will be announced for sure, Apple might delight us with ‘one more thing’ or even few more things. In the past, Apple has unveiled new Mac models at WWDC. In fact, the original iPhone was also showcased at WWDC. So, a hardware release, although unlikely, can’t be ruled out.

I think the speculated March event will give us a good idea whether we should expect new products at WWDC or not. If Apple makes the new iPads and Macs announcements at this event, then WWDC is likely to be ‘software only’.

Either way, WWDC keynote will have enough scoop with long lists of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS feature announcements. No-one knows what exactly these features will be, and that’s exactly what makes WWDC our favourite Apple event of the year. Can’t wait!!
