Hey Siri, I have a question for Team Applesutra

Thank You We’ll get back to you faster that you can say iPhone 12 Pro Max!

The Fastest (and Apple Approved) Way to Charge your iPhone

    Spread the word

Have you ever tried charging your iPhone with an iPad charger? Provided you have one lying around the house, you’ll find that your phone charges really quickly when you connect it to an iPad charger.

Please Note: This product is currently on discount during Amazon sale. Click here for details: https://amzn.to/2w9a6Dq

    Why?

Because the iPhone charger has only a 5-Watt output whereas the iPad charger packs in almost double that amount – 12 Watts! This means that your iPhone charges almost twice as fast when you use the iPad charger!!

not to use third-party chargers. And while an iPad charger is not a third party charger, it is not (technically speaking) an iPhone charger either.

So … Is the iPad charger dangerous for your iPhone?

Before we say it’s dangerous, we needed to find out if it works with the iPhone! So we dug around a bit and learned that it is compatible with all iPhones. We can say this with confidence because Apple itself confirms it.

But … Is the iPhone charger safe to use for the iPhone?

There are a lot of people out there who’d advise you against using a high voltage charger for the iPhone. They are pretty vague about the science behind their assumption, but they do scare you with words like ‘not compatible’, ‘high voltage’, ‘burn your iPhone’, ‘destruction’, etc.

Let us put your mind to rest. It is perfectly safe to use the iPad charger with an iPhone!

We’re going to say this again …. There is no danger in using the iPad charger for your iPhone!

Need some proof to convince you? Here you go:

    1. This Reddit thread discussing the issue is full of first-hand users (and former Apple engineers) saying it’s safe.
    2. Here’s bit more geeky analysis by MacRumors that says tests confirm that “the charging profile for the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus match that of the iPad.”
    3. Thirdly, Forbes confirms it by saying “iPhones have actually been charging at a lower speed than they are designed to charge at.”

And finally, a personal testament: We’ve been using the iPad charger for our iPhones for a few years now. Our phones are fine. The electrical sockets are fine. The iPad charger is fine. And the iPad that the charger belongs to is fine as well! With so much ‘fineness’ going around, we can personally vouch for the safety of this experiment.

So, there you have it folks: The iPad charger is safe and fast and so very convenient!

Now that you know how to charge your iPhone quickly, don’t go running to an Apple Store to buy an iPad charger. Unless you’re okay spending 3-4K on it!

    What to do now?

Say the magic word: AMAZON! Here, you can buy the same charger for just 1,500 Rs – less than half the price!

But be careful, though. There are a lot of sellers out there who could be selling less than reliable products. You must buy the original one made by Apple, like this one here:

Buy it and experience faster charging. You’re welcome!
