It’s a few days into the month of love, and we’re happy to bring you some news that’ll perk you right up – along with some news that’s probably a bit disappointing. But we’re here to bring you everything you need to know, aren’t we? So, don’t worry if you missed last week in Apple news because here it is all summed up for you in our weekly recap. From the Apple Event likely to be held in March to iPad shipping delays and more, here’s what happened in the Appleverse last week.
Apple Event on March 8?
A report by Bloomberg says Apple’s planning its spring event for early next month, on or around March 8. We’re largely expecting the event to bring iPhone SE 3, a new iPad Air, a possible new Mac, and iOS 15.4. So get excited!
iPhone Sales in India Beat Competitors
It seems like Apple is now the highest-earning smartphone brand in India. Despite having a tiny market share still, it appears that Apple’s been selling enough iPhones in the country to beat all competitors and take the crown as the highest-earning smartphone brand in India. Probably due to that price tag, no?
No More 3 Months of Free Apple Music Trial
If you’ve been saving up your Apple Music trial for later, we’ve got some bad news for you. Apple has decreased the duration of its streaming platform’s trial, changing it to the standard one month offered by other platforms. Luckily, this does not apply to the one-year trial the company offers on buying new Apple products.
The Wait Is Long
A report from Nikkei Asia says customers looking to get new iPads might have to wait up to 9 weeks to get their hands on one due to the ongoing chip shortage and shipping crisis. However, this disappointing trend comes alongside one that might make some people happy. The report also mentions that Apple seems to be prioritising iPhone shipments and that wait times for those are getting lower. You win some, and you lose some, I guess!
Apple’s Week in Rumours
What’s in the headlines about Apple’s upcoming plans? Here are some recent leaks and rumours to get you going.
- Apple might be planning to refresh 4 Mac models with an M2 chip: a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac, low-end Mac mini, and a redesigned MacBook Air.
- The upcoming iPhone SE 3 probably won’t get MagSafe charging.
- Supply chain reports say Apple’s started production for iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5.
