Apple Copies Android Wear To Solve Apple Watch’s Worst Problem

Apple Watch had a problem that Apple was struggling to fix. Finally, they settled for what Android Wear had been doing for almost a year.

Apple Watch’s raise-to-wake feature was hassling a lot of movie going people. In a dark theatre, it would suddenly come to life if you so much as raised your hand to adjust your hair, distracting a whole bunch of people from their movie experience!

“Most of us know well enough not to check our smartphones in a movie theater, but what do you do when your smart watch lights up when you raise your hand to scratch your nose,” says

For the record, that’s not true of India at all. Come see a movie with us in any theatre in Delhi, and there’ll be at least a handful of people who’ll have no problem talking — quite loudly — over their phones at all.

Yes, in the middle of the movie.
    Yes, it is unacceptable.
    But so is Donald Trump.

Coming back to the problem at hand (literally), Apple’s solution was to copy Android Wear

Android Wear has this special feature called “Theatre Mode”. It’s like Airplane mode on the iPhone or iPad, only it will still be connected to the Internet. However, the Watch will disable all notifications, including vibrations or tones.

Reportedly, the upcoming watchOS update, version 3.2, will feature a “Theater Mode” for Apple Watch as well.

    What’s the difference, you ask?
Spelling. Spelling is the difference. The only difference, too, because otherwise, the two features are exactly the same.

The screenshots are allegedly from a developer leak.

Well, we know it’s a copy. But what bugs us is that Apple copied the name also. Couldn’t they have come with a new name!? So much for being the most innovative company in the world!
