Each September, Apple’s event becomes the talk of the town and a whole lot of people wait in anticipation, especially for the latest iPhones. Apple enthusiasts, fans, and rival companies look closely at the launch event, eager to see what the two trillion-dollar company has in store for them. Each year, the invitation from Apple is always followed by a tagline indicating a new iPhone. This time things are going to be a bit different.
If you are looking forward to seeing new iPhones at the launch event, you will be disappointed. The pandemic has massively slowed down every industry and Apple’s component suppliers are no exception. The newer iPhone 12 will be launched, but at a later date. Heartbreak aside, what can we expect from Apple on September 15th?
Apple Watch Series 6
Since the upcoming event from Apple reads “Time Flies”, we expect to see the next-generation Watch Series 6’s debut. Already there are a lot of rumours regarding the feature list that’ll be unveiled with the launch of Apple’s successful wearable technology. The new smartwatch is expected to monitor blood oxygen levels, improved and more accurate ECG readings, and automatic hand wash detection with timer to further expand its footprint in the health managing proficiency.
A mid-spec entry-level Apple Watch
Apple might launch a new alternative to the Series 3. It will be installed with basic health improvement features and will be the most affordable smartwatch by Apple. Looking at the ever-growing wearable tech segment, having devices at various price points will be a good idea. The three series is now showing its age and replacement with updated display and processor will be welcomed.
iPad Air 4
Though newer iPads have never debuted alongside the Watch Series. Since the unveiling of the Macs has been moved to an exclusive launch event, we expect the new Air 4 to be launched next week. The new tablet from Apple is expected to get a near bezel-less design due to the removal of the Home Button, and it’ll be the first device from Apple to spot Touch ID on the side-lock screen button. Apple plans to make Face ID exclusive only for the “Pro” iPads.
AirPods Studio
The in-ear wireless headphones from Apple have gained immense popularity, but music purists were missing their over-the-head, Bluetooth enabled headphones, which Apple might deliver this year. With “Hey Siri” support, magnetic removable ear pads, in-ear detection to play/pause music, and noise-cancelling, the AirPods Studio is the right device for music connoisseurs who are Apple loyalists.
What about the iPhone 12?
Due to delay in shipments, the launch date for the new iPhone models has been postponed. The new iPhone lineup will include four devices, a 5.4 inch iPhone 12, a 6.1 inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1 inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7 inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apart from the hardware mentioned above, Apple may launch its item tracking device called the AirTags, and a ‘mini’ version of the HomePod at their September event. We all might have to hold our horses until October for the next-generation iPhones.
