With its pricey product line-up and the pomp that comes along, I have always been curious to know what ‘revolutionary innovation’ Apple brings next. I, personally, might be biased towards affordable technology, but it doesn’t dilute my interest in finding out what the most popular tech company is rumoured to bring out in 2023.
Same line-up, again?
Yes and no. We’ll be getting the new iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, and software updates like any other year, but something new is brewing as well.
Apple AR/VR headset
Apparently, Apple’s Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) headset has been in the works for years and is rumoured to be launched by mid-2023. With the never-ending quest to escape reality and rely on technology to make us feel good about anything other than that reality, a lot of companies are either investing in or creating these AR/VR systems.
Apple, in their typical fashion, is also building an in-house operating system for their AR/VR headset, expected to be called “realityOS” or “xrOS”.
This next revolutionary Apple product is stated to be priced over US$2000, which could translate to well over ₹1.65 lakhs in India. Those who love Apple products are known to define ‘expensive’ in an illogical way, but this seems high even by that standard.
15-inch Macbook Air
Another exciting upcoming launch is the 15-inch Macbook Air, speculated to come with either a 15.2-inch model or a 15.6-inch screen size. A Macbook Air, the larger display size is well awaited by all. Rumours speculate that this new version might come with M2 or M2 Pro processor. Either way, expect the 15-inch Air to be one of the best launches of the year.
iPhone 15 Series
Shocking! A new iPhone with not many changes and a super price tag is on its way. The rumoured iPhone 15 will not have much new to offer with the regular camera specifications and processor updates taking centerstage. Is it going to be worth it? I guess we’ll have to ask someone with a lot of money to spare.
16-inch iPad Pro
The speculated new model of the Apple iPad will be a step up from the previously existing 12.9-inch model in a big way! The gigantic 16-inch iPad Pro will be equivalent in size to the 16-inch Macbook Pro and will be targeted at graphic artists, designers and other such creative professionals. Like all other products mentioned above, this one is also still a rumour and doesn’t have a surety of launch.
All these products might be new launches but don’t promise to be new in the true sense, except the AR/VR headset, of course. Either way, Apple is still a multi-billion dollar company, and I’m just a random person learning and writing about it. Take it with a huge pinch of salt.
