Hey Siri, I have a question for Team Applesutra

Thank You We’ll get back to you faster that you can say iPhone 12 Pro Max!

If iPhone SE & iPhone X Had a Baby, It Would be Called iPhone SE2

    Spread the word

With the launch of iPhone SE in 2016, we saw a side of Apple never seen before. The one that revives the old or in this case iconic, unchanged designs. The iPhone SE was an amalgamation of iPhone 5’s aesthetics and iPhone 6S’s specs. The SE as we learned, stands for “Special Edition” was a hit amongst the legion of people who demanded smaller phones.

But the question that haunted us all was, will Apple continue with the SE line? Thankfully the doubts were put to rest when reports of iPhone SE 2 entering mass production came to light.

Taking into the account the speculations about the next-gen iPhone sporting a bezel-less design of iPhone X, chances are Apple might go for a more modernised look for iPhone SE 2 as well.

The rumour has it that Apple will be taking major design cues from the redesigned iPhone X. While the current model harkens back to aesthetics of iPhone 5S, Tekz24, a tech blog claims that Apple will be adding the all-glass back to the new model. This decision makes sense since Apple has now stuck a glass back on the iPhone 8 and iPhone X to support wireless charging. Is it possible that iPhone SE 2 will also support wireless charging? Hopefully yes!

The previous rumours claimed that the iPhone SE 2 will be equipped with a quad-core A10 chipset, 2GB of RAM, a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. We have also heard that the next iteration in the iPhone SE lineup will feature the same 4.0-inch screen with a touch ID/ Home button at the bottom. The device is expected to be available in two variants, 32GB and 128GB.

The Phone is expected to make a debut in the first quarter of 2018. While we patiently wait for the launch of the smaller iPhone SE 2, we’ve come up with a wish list of sorts, features that we want to see in the next iPhone SE.

    A Headphone Jack

First things first, the iPhone SE has a headphone jack, and we’d very much like to keep it that way for the iPhone SE 2. Apple has little to no reason to remove my beloved headphone jack and leave it lying on the cutting room floor. So fingers are crossed!

    A Better Battery

This one’s a no-brainer. iPhone SE has always topped the charts in terms of a phone that will last through the day. Its prowess at saving power just makes sense. And even though we are short on complaints about the SE’s battery performance, we don’t mind if it gets better!

    A Refreshed Design

It goes without saying that Apple’s idea of reviving iPhone 5’s design was a brilliant idea. But there comes a time when even the best design ideas need to be left to the side. And when looking towards the release of the iPhone SE 2, that time is now!

So chop chop Apple, let’s see how innovative can you get while sticking to the four-inch SE size that we are all accustomed to.
