There comes a time in all our lives when we just lose it. We just give up on life and do the weirdest, craziest things. Don’t you dare deny it! It happens to all of us sooner or later.
For 30-year-old Hsu Chien, that moment came last Friday in the city of cities, New York City. He was arrested outside Apple’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue after he walked into the premises wielding a samurai sword, slashing at thin air and shouting profusely!
Yes, you read that right. Apparently he started shouting at no one in general, “I just want an iPhone! I just want an IPHONE!!” Most people inside the store couldn’t make out what Chien was yelling, and it reportedly created a situation of panic.
A lawyer who lives nearby and was at the Apple Store when this drama unfolded was quoted as saying “The blade must have been two feet, curved, shining. Everybody just quickly moved back to the perimeter of the store. I’ve never been more terrified in my life.”
No one was hurt in the incident, but of course, people had to over-react. First world problems and all!
The security present in the building rounded him off. “But the situation appeared to get worse as they escorted him out. Chien stepped out of the store and held the sword to the back of his neck in what may have been an attempted suicide before police tackled him to the ground.”
Police reports also said that many people present at the store, especially the elderly, were traumatised mentally. Turns out reality turned out to be too exciting for them to bear!
Of course, Apple is yet to comment on the whole incident. But then, what can they really say? Except this:
