Predicting the March 25 Apple Event

Rumors of the much anticipated Apple event have finally been confirmed and we could not be more pumped! The event will be held on March 25^th, 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (10:30 p.m. IST) at the Steve Jobs Theatre, Cupertino, California (a huge deal considering it’s the first non-iPhone event to be held at the venue).

The only question now is, “What all new Apple goodness will we see?” Well, we cannot know for sure until the carpet unfurls, but is this going to stop us from making predictions? Nah, not really. So, let’s get right to it!

Apple’s Venture into Video Streaming

With the success of streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more, it really doesn’t come as a surprise that Apple is working on one of its own. And just like its competitors, Apple too is planning on offering original content to its audience.

Work on this service has been underway since June 2017 when Apple hired two top Sony Televisions Executives to get the project up and running. Some of the stars onboard the train are Oprah, Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon, Aaron Paul, and Steve Carell. It also boasts of directors like J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg. Basically, this is far from a half-assed effort, and we cannot wait to throw all our money their way!

Apple News and Magazine

They say ‘An Apple a day keeps you up to date’, and Apple’s new app, if released, promises to do just that. For those of you living under a rock, Apple acquired the digital magazine subscription bundle service ‘Texture’. They’re allegedly collaborating with magazine and newspaper publishers to launch a subscription-only Apple News App and an all-new Apple Magazine App as well. However, the gossip is that the news outlets Apple approached are not very happy with the revenue cuts that Apple offered them. So, whether this app will ever see the light of day is uncertain at this point.

iPads

According to reputed Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple might just unveil a new update for the iPad Mini this month. Last upgraded in September of 2015, even the most ardent of Apple lovers out there gave up all hope of a new device update. But, reports of a new upgrade entailing a thinner, yet tougher, aluminum chassis and a Smart Connector surfaced. And as you’ve guessed it, we’re all feeling those feels all over again.

As for the iPad, there really hasn’t been any talk. But there’s a fat chance that there might be a cheaper one with slimmer bezels on the horizon *fingers crossed*

AirPower and AirPods

Apple, we’ve moved from 2016 to 2019 and from the iPhone 7 to the XS Max. And yet, we’re still stuck on the AirPods 1, and the promised AirPower Mats are no less than creatures of myth. When, O, when will we get these two?

We’re really holding out hope that 2019 is the year, and this event is the place because if not, we’re really going to lose it! But dramatics aside, this year, most are predicting a long list of launches. There’s the wireless AirPods case, AirPower charging mats, and AirPods 2. The AirPods come in a new colour with noise cancellation and a water-resistant built.

So, here you go, guys! These are our predictions for the March 25^th Apple event. And while we’re keeping our fingers crossed (and fixed deposits broken), we also realise that with Apple, it’s really anyone’s guess.

Thankfully, our wait will be over in no time because with the dates being announced, we’ve got less than 10 days to go before the Apple gods reveal it all!
