In a style befitting Apple, they confirmed the rumours that had been going around for a few months now. The tech giant officially announced that they will hold its next special event on March 25th, 10 a.m. local time (March 24, 10:30 p.m. IST) at Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. They sent out invites to various media houses inviting them to what seems to be the Apple event of the month, if not the year.
The invite was a GIF with the tagline “It’s Showtime”. What’s to be noted though is that this isn’t the first time they used this tagline. Way back in 2006, they used the same tagline when they were set to offer movies on iTunes and the first reveal of iTV aka Apple TV.
So, what’s the event about?
According to speculations, the event will focus on its growing Services segment. They will reportedly offer a premium version of Apple News and a streaming video service. The streaming video service will compete with already established streaming sites like Netflix and Amazon Prime. And that’s not all. After all, when did this tech conglomerate ever stop at just one thing? According to Bloomberg, Apple will also air shows that are Apple-developed or funded so that we can expect a lot of original content.
However, there are various other rumours which indicate that the launch line will have more than this. Apart from software releases, hardware devices which are in the pipeline seem to be on the list as well. That means that it’s possible that they’ll unveil AirPower mat, AirPods 2, a new 9.7 inch iPad and an upgraded iPad mini.
There’s also the expected rumour about the release of iOS 12.2. The new release includes support for the new HomeKit TVs that pair with Siri and Home App.
So, folks, you better ready yourself for the bomb that Apple is about to drop. Stay tuned and stay hopeful. Let’s see what this Apple event will bring to us.
