Apple has just launched the much-anticipated AirPods 2, and with that, we need to take a look at a few things. For one, it seems like people are going to have no choice to buy them even if they already own AirPods. ‘Why’ you might ask, and the answer to that is the AirPods battery.
The AirPods Battery
The AirPods come with lithium-ion batteries, and we admit that these batteries come with a ‘for limited use’ tag. However, the two to three-year battery lifespan is dismal nonetheless. Let us paint a picture of how badly the batteries have depreciated. People who bought them when they launched now find that battery life that is less than half of the original!
If you too are a victim to a battery that now has the life-span of a bee, then you’ve probably entertained the idea of changing your battery or already have for a whopping $49 per AirPod. Ridiculous, right? Getting a battery change means dishing out almost as much as the price of new AirPods. And honestly, if you’re willing to pay that much, might as well splurge a bit more and get new ones.
So, what do you think? Will you chose to rough it out with your old AirPods, get a battery change, or opt for all new AirPods?
