You can finally say goodbye to what was widely regarded as the bane of the iPhone family — the 16 GB iPhone. In its place, we will be getting a new entry model – 32 GB iPhone 7!
That’s not the only good news. A highly placed source has indicated that Apple will be doubling the space provided across its entire storage spectrum. In plain English, this would mean that the 16GB/64GB/128GB setup will be replaced with a doubled storage setup of 32GB/128GB/256GB lineup. Yep, we just might live to see a 256GB iPhone. Who would have thunk!
What’s this ‘highly placed source’ that we’re talking about? A mysterious twitter account that no one knows anything about. Before you judge us, the reason we’re saying that its “highly placed” is because the twitter handle has already leaked many iPhone features/details before, a majority of which have turned out to be true.
In this particular instance, the twitter user who goes by the name of The Malignant, tweeted a pic of the packaging of what might be a test unit of the upcoming iPhone. The marking on the packing clearly shows that it’s a 32 GB iPhone.

12 hours later, the user also tweeted the supposed prices for the three models. According to that, the 32 GB iPhone will be priced around 900 USD. So that means in India it will cost somewhere between 50-55 thousand Rupees.
#iPhone7Plus
32 GB 6088 RMB (911 USD)
128 GB 6888 RMB (1031 USD)
256 GB 7888 RMB (1180 USD)— The Malignant (@the_malignant) August 30, 2016
From the price list, we can assume that the prices of 128 GB and 256 GB iPhones will be in the price range of 60-63K and 72-75K respectively. It makes you wonder how much the 256 GB iPhone 7 Plus will cost then!? While it certainly will be quite pricey — upwards of 80-85 thousand, perhaps — we do hope that it doesn’t break the 1 lakh barrier.
Because no matter how good the phone is, paying a six-digit figure for it is just ridiculous. Even shelling out 85,000 Rupees seems way too wasteful to me. It’s just an insane amount of money for a device half of whose features aren’t even available in India. Instead of spending that much on a phone, I would rather go buy a bike! It will stay with me longer, and it will definitely serve me better!
