If you’re a 1password user like me, then you’re in for a treat. This new update has added a great new feature to the iOS app.
According to 9to5Mac —
“As of version 6.8, which AgileBits has codenamed ‘The Picnic Edition’, one-time passwords will now auto-copy to the clipboard whenever you use auto-fill.”
As you know, 1Password closes itself if you leave the app. Which happens every time when an OTP is required to sign in somewhere. You have to leave the app for copying the OTP and 1Password invariably closes. That means you have to log in again using the master password. This update eliminates that need by copying the OTPs without leaving the app.
This is certainly a great feature as it will save users a good three/four steps while using two-factor authentication system or any other app/site that uses an OTP to log in.
1Password gave a brief description of the other changes that have been incorporated in this update:
• One-time passwords now copy themselves to the clipboard automatically whenever you fill an item that has a one-time password.
• The ability to create vaults has arrived for 1Password.com accounts!
• Item creation and modification dates now appear in the item details.
I hope to see many such amazing features in the future. If you’re not already a 1Password user, I highly recommend you try it out once. It’s one of the best password-management apps out there.
